Setup

One attacker stands at the wing below the free-throw-line extended, a passer waits at the top, and the defender starts in help position in the gap between the two.

How it runs

  1. The passer feeds the wing and the defender closes out from the gap.
  2. Land on the closeout with the baseline foot back and the top foot splitting the attacker's stance.
  3. The attacker drives hard at the baseline.
  4. The defender must turn the drive back toward the middle and keep his body between the ball and the rim.
  5. Rotate lines after each rep.

Coaching point

Closeout stance decides the rep: baseline foot back before the attacker moves, not after.
