Setup
Split the group into pairs; four pairs works best. Two pairs play, the rest wait on the sideline.
How it runs
- After the inbounds pass the offense may not pass the ball forward while in the backcourt — they may dribble forward or pass backward only.
- The defense pressures the ball and looks to trap along the sideline.
- Once the ball crosses half court all restrictions come off and the pair attacks to score.
- Out of bounds goes to the defense. Whoever scores stays on and defends a fresh pair.
- Play to five baskets.
Coaching point
Defenders trap from behind the ball handler's blind side when he turns his back and dribbles sideways.
