Setup

3-on-3 half court. The offense may not dribble until the ball has been caught in the paint by a cutter or post.

How it runs

  1. Offense moves the ball with passes and cuts only; defenders deny and help.
  2. Once any attacker catches in the paint, the 'unlock' is on: every player gets up to two dribbles per catch.
  3. If the ball goes back outside without a shot, the dribble stays unlocked for the rest of the possession.
  4. Play to a stop or score; rotate offense to defense, defense to the line, next group in.

Coaching point

Cut hard to the paint and show a target; the defense will not give it away.
