Court diagram of the 3-Man Weave basketball drill: start positions and movement
Basket at the top. Orange circles: offense, X: defense, wavy line: dribble, dashed line: pass.

Setup

Three players spread across the width of the court on the baseline. The middle player starts with the ball.

How it runs

  1. The middle player passes to one wing, then runs behind that receiver toward the same side.
  2. The player who caught it moves into the middle and passes across to the far player.
  3. Keep passing and running behind the receiver, advancing up the court as you go.
  4. The last receiver dribbles in and finishes with a layup.

Coaching point

Pass ahead of the teammate so they catch it moving instead of standing still.
