Setup

A wing with the ball guarded by a defender, and a post on the block guarded by a post defender. Cones mark three entry spots: top of the key, wing and short corner.

How it runs

  1. Wing catches and looks inside while the post seals on the ball-to-basket line.
  2. If the defender plays high side, the wing takes one dribble toward the baseline or corner to open the low entry lane.
  3. If the defender plays low side, the wing dribbles up toward the top to open the high entry lane.
  4. Wing fakes a pass to move the on-ball defender's hands, then passes with the hand away from the defender.
  5. Post scores in one move; the passer relocates to an open spot for a kick-out.

Coaching point

One dribble can turn a closed lane into an open one; improve the angle rather than throw over hands.
