Setup

Three offensive players: a wing with the ball, a corner player and a far-wing player. The defender of the far wing stands on the rim line.

How it runs

  1. The wing drives baseline past a defender who gives a half-step head start.
  2. The rim-line defender slides across to a spot outside the restricted area and sets his feet square to the driver.
  3. He absorbs the contact vertically, then falls back safely onto his backside.
  4. The other defenders rotate: the beaten defender chases, the corner defender drops to the weak side.
  5. If the driver passes instead, the helper recovers and the play continues.

Coaching point

Get there early and square; late arrivals are blocking fouls.
