Setup
A shooter starts under the basket, two chairs (or two screeners) form a stagger on the lane line toward the wing, and a passer is at the top. A defender starts on the shooter's hip.
How it runs
- Shooter walks his defender toward the baseline, then sprints up off the stagger.
- Defender chooses a coverage each rep: trail, cut under the second screen, or top-lock.
- Shooter reads: trailed means curl toward the lane, cut under means flare back to the corner, top-locked means back-cut to the rim.
- Passer delivers on time for the chosen cut; shooter catches and shoots or finishes.
- Rotate shooter to defender, defender to passer, passer to shooter.
Coaching point
Set up the screen by getting close to it; shoulder to hip as you pass each screen.
