Basket at the top. Orange circles: offense, X: defense, wavy line: dribble, dashed line: pass.

Setup

One attacker starts at the guard spot outside the arc on the lane line extended, a second attacker on the opposite block, and one defender in the lane close enough to touch the second attacker.

How it runs

  1. The guard drives to the rim.
  2. The defender steps across into help position and tries to stop the ball.
  3. The driver reads him: finish if he has not fully committed, pass to the block if he has.
  4. If the pass goes, the block player must score off it.
  5. Rotate: driver to defense, defender to the block, block player to the back of the line.

Coaching point

Read the helper's shoulders — if you cannot see the front of his jersey, go finish.
