Setup

Five chairs are spread around the three-point line and the shooter starts under the basket with a passer ready to feed every catch.

How it runs

  1. Score a power lay-up.
  2. Backpedal up and around the first chair, calling for the ball with both hands up and open toward the passer.
  3. Step through the pass and take a pull-up jumper off one dribble.
  4. Follow your shot and score a power lay-up whether it went in or not.
  5. Backpedal to the next chair and repeat all the way round.

Coaching point

Calling for the ball with the hands ready is what makes the catch shootable at speed.
