Setup

Post on the block with the ball entering from the wing. The defender plays the high side, or plays behind without making contact.

How it runs

  1. Reading pressure on the high side, or not finding the defender's low-side foot, the post steps straight to the rim with the baseline foot.
  2. As he steps he keeps the defender pinned on his hip and seals the baseline off.
  3. He power-dribbles once, brings the trail foot through to the rim and squares up to the baseline.
  4. He powers up off two feet, uses the backboard, and lands ready to jump straight back for the rebound.

Coaching point

The first step goes at the rim, not along the baseline.
