Basket at the top. Orange circles: offense, X: defense, wavy line: dribble, dashed line: pass.

Setup

Two players start at an elbow and a coach waits out on the wing with the ball.

How it runs

  1. On the coach's call both players sprint to the opposite block and touch it.
  2. They then race back and cut to the strongside low post.
  3. Whoever gets there first is the offense; the loser becomes the defender.
  4. The offense works to keep a passing angle and an open lane to the ball, the coach feeds him, and it becomes live one-on-one in the post.

Coaching point

Winning the race means winning the inside position, so the last two steps decide the possession.
