Setup

A post attacker starts in the middle of the lane and a post defender guards him. Two passers stand at the top and at the wing.

How it runs

  1. The post attacker tries to establish a position on the block before the ball reaches the wing.
  2. The defender steps his inside leg across the attacker's top leg and swings his elbow over the attacker's arms to push him away from the block.
  3. Once off the block, the defender moves to a full front or three-quarter depending on the ball's position.
  4. The passers move the ball top-to-wing and back; the post tries to receive for four seconds.

Coaching point

The fight begins before the ball arrives at the wing.
