Setup
Four offensive players break a three-player backcourt press, while a fourth defender waits in the frontcourt at the top of the key.
How it runs
- Inbound and break the three-player press with spacing and reversal.
- Once the ball passes the press, the offense attacks immediately against the back defender and any recovering pressers.
- Read the numbers: 3-on-2 or 2-on-1 leads to a layup, open shot or extra pass.
- All non-shooters crash the glass on the shot.
- Defense that gets the stop brings the ball back the other way as the next offense.
Coaching point
Beating the press is not the goal; scoring off it is.
