Setup

Offense: wing, top and low post on the ball side. Defense: post defender fronting, wing ball defender, and a weak-side low defender at the rim.

How it runs

  1. The wing defender pressures the ball; the post defender full fronts and calls the code word for a front.
  2. The weak-side defender shows a stunt to discourage the lob.
  3. When the lob goes over the top, the post defender spins toward the middle and the weak-side defender attacks the catch, forming a wall with the fronting defender.
  4. The ball-side wing defender drops to the elbow; the top defender covers the first pass out.
  5. Play live after the catch until a shot or turnover.

Coaching point

Wing pressure is the first defense against the lob.
