Setup

Ball handler at the top guarded, a weak-side wing guarded by a help defender in the gap. The ball handler probes with the dribble to draw the help defender's eyes.

How it runs

  1. Ball handler dribbles toward the strong side, forcing the weak-side defender to watch the ball.
  2. If the help defender turns his head to the ball and loses the cutter, the wing basket-cuts behind him for a bounce pass.
  3. If the help defender sinks too far into the lane, the wing relocates for a catch-and-shoot three.
  4. If the help defender stays attached, the ball handler attacks his own man.
  5. Play live until a score or stop; rotate positions.

Coaching point
