Basket at the top. Orange circles: offense, X: defense, wavy line: dribble, dashed line: pass.

Setup

3-on-3 plus an unguarded passer at the top: cutter on the block, two screeners set a stagger along the lane below the free-throw line.

How it runs

  1. The second screener positions on the inside of the first screener's hip if the defense goes low, on the outside if it goes high.
  2. Cutter reads his defender: curl if he trails, straight out if he goes under, back cut to the rim if he locks the top side.
  3. Against a switch, the cutter tight-curls straight to the block and posts the switched defender.
  4. After the cutter uses the screens, the screeners space out to the arc for the second pass.
  5. Play live after the catch.

Coaching point

Both screens should sit below the free-throw line plane.
