Setup

An offensive rebounder on the wing inside the arc and a defender between him and the basket. A coach shoots from the top.

How it runs

  1. Coach shoots; defender turns to box out.
  2. Offensive player uses a swim (inside foot steps past, inside arm over the shoulder), a spin (reverse pivot off the contact), or a forearm fake to get beside the defender.
  3. If he secures the ball near the rim, he goes straight back up without a dribble.
  4. If he secures it far out, he chins it and resets.
  5. Play until a score or a defensive rebound; switch roles.

Coaching point

Move before the defender makes contact; a still rebounder is easy to box.
