Setup
An inbounder waits under the far rim with the ball, two teammates start on the free-throw line and out front, and two defenders get ready to trap.
How it runs
- The player on the free-throw line steps up and screens for the one out front.
- That player sprints at the ball and catches near the baseline-sideline corner with his back to both lines.
- Two defenders close to trap him.
- He attacks one of the two before the trap closes, then spins out with the dribble, sealing the defender by getting his body past that defender's knee.
- He then pushes the ball well out ahead of himself so no trailing hand can reach it.
Coaching point
Come off the screen hard – a slow cut gets trapped on the catch.
