Setup
Set up exactly as for the spin-out: inbounder under the far rim, screener on the free-throw line, receiver out front, two defenders ready to trap.
How it runs
- The receiver comes off the screen, sprints to the ball and catches near the sideline with his back to the corner.
- Two defenders close into a trap.
- The receiver shows a pass high across the two defenders so both of them straighten up.
- As they stand up he splits them with one long, hard step.
- Only after he is through the trap does he put the ball on the floor.
Coaching point
That high fake has to be convincing or the two defenders never open a gap.
